One of the very first public transport initiatives to revitalise the heart of Adelaide, this project involved significant road widening along Port Road and North Terrace to create a corridor for the new tramline and platforms. With significant traffic using these major arterial roads, the project required careful traffic management planning to ensure peak movements were maintained. The project involved the design and construction of 3km of new tram track, overhead traction power, 4 platforms and major road works.
